Here are several other AUs for Caius that don’t really need their own page even if they’re fully developed.
I’d rather just keep the minute details between friends only and those who ask.
Invictus AU
Rather than expiring at the hands of their own curse, they were able to survive expelling Occasus from their body, but still were left permanently cursed. They will forever be disabled by an ever-returning internal wound that makes them look like they’re ill with consumption, but other than that their life could somewhat go back to normal. They were also forced to retire from the military after a devastating leg injury, so now they live as a cranky, bipolar veteran pensioner on their lavish inherited estate. They eventually reunite with their old lover Romeo after Caius caused a scene at his bakery, but ultimately they are able to rekindle their love for each other.
While still haunted by the past, Caius chooses to live together in peace with Romeo for the rest of their lives, continuing to grow old together and enjoy missed opportunities.
Blast from the Past AU
Caius is somehow thrown into the future upon expelling Occasus from their body, and while they aren’t cursed like it was, they still have to deal with being unable to return to the past. Thrown into the modern 1980s lifestyle, they must learn how to navigate it through Finch, who they help teach magic when Occasus, now Conquest, refuses to help her. It’s obvious to Finch these two had a tumultuous relationship in the past and she’s tired of feeling like a third wheel when they act up. The three of them have to learn how to live with each other in order to prevent the worst from happening when Finch’s opponent has bigger plans than ruining her life.
It ends with Caius able to put things to rest between them and Occasus, rekindle their love with it but also to light a new flame with Finch. They learn how to live as a commoner with a normal, mundane labor job, free from magic and war, and feel at peace with it. Also learns this new thing called therapy.
Immortal AU
Caius is rendered immortal after expelling Occasus from their body, thus leaving them cursed by not just immortality but a never-healing wound. They spend their years taking on different names, changing their appearance in many ways, and also undergo several personality changes as history shaped them. They discovered they had a daughter when they would’ve been in their 70s, they reunited with their old lover Romeo and stayed by his side until he died of old age; they were an infamous, powerful cutthroat mage in the 1800s who delved into dark magic in order to break their curse; and by the 1980s they had become a very laidback apothecary shop owner stuck in the 70s fashion craze somewhere on an island in California.
It ends with them reuniting with Occasus, now known as Conquest, with Finch as referee, and confronting the source of the curse so that it can be finally broken after over 500 years. With that, Caius can now live a regular life once and for all.
Emperor AU
Rather than defying Occasus’ orders entirely, Caius chooses to reveal their Championhood to declare the East Rome Emperor as a criminal fraud. West Rome’s Empress, being a devout worshipper of the Pantheon, saw Caius as worthy of the throne since they singlehandedly put the war between the Persians to rest. Occasus supported this and so Caius chose to ascend with Occasus openly by their side. However, something deep within them was rotting now that they were so isolated by their growing power, and several years later an old lover named Romeo returns to see the monster they’ve become.
It ends with Caius attempting to keep Romeo from ever leaving Rome again, but he breaks free. Caius, however, is patient, and knows that they will eventually find him again as they continue to conquer new nations.
Sci-Fi AU
A lonely, down-on-their-luck police investigator investigates a seemingly abandoned space warship only to be abducted by its rogue sentient AI and left microchipped. Now under its control, it says it wants to “give them purpose”, so they’re forced to become its scout under the guise of a robot bonded to them. What it fully means by giving them purpose doesn’t become clear until it’s too late, and even then, Caius has grown all too weary of their original life to go back to the way things were.
Thus, it ends with Caius falling in love with this rogue AI, being indoctrinated into its cause and becoming second-in-command to its revived ghost fleet.
Sci-Fi AU #2 (Worm Time)
A worldbuilding RP between friends, set 300 years into the future where something horrible lives within the core of Earth that compels humans to return to it when Earth cracks so deep it’s visible from space. Earth eventually “hatches” and a horrible worm emerges, slowly consuming everything around it before making its way to the moon. A luxury cruise ship travelling from Mars to Io is repurposed into a passenger ship in order to escape from the worm, but many people on the ship become ill with something eventually dubbed Homecoming Sickness, where they’re compelled to return to Earth by any means necessary. This was caused by the worm who has a psychic influence on humans, and originally began when the Earth cracked.
Caius is just Some Guy in this AU, working as a therapist specializing in space-related mental illnesses that are now prominent due to constant space travel. Caius was originally in the military, but retired after a traumatizing incident they swore to stay on ground for the rest of their life. Unfortunately, after the events of Earth hatching, Caius had to flee Mars with their cat to escape the horrific events happening near Earth. They’re kind, thoughtful, and empathetic, helping resolve conflicts peacefully on the ship, but they’re still a bipolar mess with massive mood swings that worsen over time as they succumb to the Homecoming Sickness. When they succumb to the Homecoming Sickness, they attempt to take over the ship to go to Earth, and harm several people in the process.
In order to prevent them from further sabotaging their escape, Caius is put in stasis until the ship is able to get away from the worm’s psychic influence.
